This session is intended for teachers, administrators, library media specialists and all change makers.
Libraries are the center of learning and where we learn matters. How do our current physical spaces promote or hinder the learning process? How do we provide opportunities for all of our learners to grow? Is one of our goals to make sure our students are participants in an ever-changing global community? Do we want to foster and support opportunities for our teachers to continually grow and learn? If so, then we need to provide learning spaces and opportunities that amplify the type of learning needed to support these intentions. That means we need flexible learning environments that allow for collaboration, creation, personal responsibility, project management and the ability for all learners to showcase their learning.
Lynn Ortlieb, David Steinberg, Sarah Wasser and Kristina Holzweiss from Syosset High School will walk you through the journey of transforming their library into a true future ready learning commons."
