Plainview-Old Bethpage School District’s theme, Keys to Success, focuses on unlocking the potential for innovative learning and creative experiences for all. Through this interactive session, presenters will share ways the students, teachers, and administrators have embraced changes towards science discovery, STEAM education, and digital integration at all levels. Hear about our Elementary Discovery Destinations aligned towards the Next Generation Science Standards in our new interactive Discovery Lab. Students transform into scientists as they don their lab coats and goggles while gathering data in their journals. Our Elementary STEAM program is shifting our mindsets towards design thinking and student empowerment. Students leverage technology as they construct creative artifacts in meaningful learning experiences within our STEAM curriculum. Administrators at Plainview-Old Bethpage model and promote continuous professional learning for themselves and others through a positive culture of transformative technology uses. Communication, goal-setting, and sharing resources are streamlined and enhanced while developing common vision. During this presentation, attendees will participate in a technology-infused, phenomenon-based, interactive STEAM challenge while learning how to implement these Keys to Success at all district levels.
